DEIJ Leadership Cohort Retreat Advances Equity in Conservation

Knowing that the future health of Colorado is in the hands of the people who make up our state, our coalition is committed to creating a conservation sector that is more diverse, equitable and inclusive. In late June we held a retreat in partnership with Land Trust Alliance that brought land trust leaders together to learn, reflect, explore and set goals to move us forward in this journey. Nestled in the woods at Deer Valley Ranch in Nathrop, the retreat was also a unique opportunity for this first cohort to connect on a personal and professional level.

Participants came away with new insights and perspectives on their work, and set some concrete short- and long-term goals for themselves and their organizations. We are so inspired by this group’s vision and commitment, and look forward to more gatherings in the future! We thank Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) for investing in this important work.
