Natural Resources Manager - High Line Canal Conservancy

The Natural Resources Manager is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Senior Director of Planning and Implementation, with a salary range of $60,000–$70,000 commensurate with experience and a competitive benefits package that includes generous paid time off, medical and dental coverage, HSA/FSA options, a retirement plan, and life and disability insurance. This hybrid role includes approximately 60% in-office work, 20% remote work, and 20% fieldwork along the Canal, and requires a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and use of a personal vehicle. Occasional weekend, early morning, and evening work is expected, along with physical activities such as driving, walking, standing, and lifting.

The High Line Canal Conservancy is a nonprofit dedicated to preserving, protecting, and enhancing the 71-mile High Line Canal—a historic 140-year-old irrigation corridor that has evolved into a vital recreational, ecological, and green stormwater asset. In this role, the Natural Resources Manager leads the planning, coordination, and implementation of natural resource management and restoration efforts along the Canal. Working closely with jurisdictional partners, foresters, ecologists, planners, and community stakeholders, this position advances the Canal-wide Natural Resources Management Plan, oversees tree planting and ecological restoration projects, manages maintenance contracts and data systems, and helps integrate community engagement and volunteer stewardship into long-term care strategies. The role also contributes to organizational partnerships, communications, and on-the-ground operations, supporting a collaborative vision for a healthy, resilient Canal corridor.
